| After the 2004 NHL lockout a new rule was instituted that imposes a minor delay of game penalty on any defensive player who directs the puck out of bounds over the glass into the stands or into the safety netting. When the puck is shot into either of the players benches, the penalty will not apply. There are also game and 10 minute misconduct penalties which are reserved for infractions such as continued disputing of a call with an official or for intent to injure penalties. Well.This has been quite the change from the Wild teams of past. Just kind of weird to see Backstrom give up 6 or 7 goals in a game. Hard to watch one of the best defensive teams that at least kept themselves in games be blown out in numerous games thus far. Now obviously a switch to a offensive oriented team does not happen overnight but just a little weird I guess. I have said in the past that if you want to switch directions completely you have to have the personnel to do that. Well.they don't. Don't get me wrong I love watching them win but being on the verge of a playoff spot and missing them will not do them any favors in the long run. Martin Brodeur was born on 6th May 1972. He is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender who has played his entire National Hockey League NHL career with the New Jersey Devils. In his 19 year tenure with the Devils, he has led the team to three Stanley Cup championships and has taken them to the playoffs every year but one. Brodeur has won two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada in the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympic Games, as well as several other medals with the team in other international competitions. Relying on guys like Sheppard and Pouliot to put up big #'s is probablly not going to happen. High draft picks that have not worked out and most likely won't. As hard as it is to say the best thing for the Wild may be to strive for a high pick in the draft for the next few years and reload the farm.
